The sun was setting over one of the Little Compton bays. Katie was singing I lost my dog by the fire. And filling in for one or two of our missing strays, Dave was on guitar.
A puncheon of Chablis in her hand, the infamous next door neighbor Meredith was there with some kind of Vulcan mind meld in her glass.  She reenacted one of my favorite Star Treck scenes. She didn't shout out "PAIN" like Spock, but she did have Dave in some kind of headlock. I swear I heard her ask "Have you ever?"
And I leaned back in my wingback chair and wondered, nowdays a woman's got to hit a man?
