Who was that?

That chick that Ricky Nelson was in love with? Oh yeah Mary Lou.
     Sing it Sean.
She was with that Marmaduke guy first time I met her. Yeah it was NRPS at Winterland in '73. But Ricky was the first... yeah the first to literally flame out at 30,000 feet, (and sometimes you wonder: there but for the grace of god go I).  This wheel's on fire.
Don't we miss 'em, warts and all. James and Hank, Muddy, Johnnie Cash, Gary Primich and the Duke, all that time and Paul Butterfield gone. What was that James Brown title? Money will change you, but time will take you out. I don't know about the first part, but yeah, the second sound about right.
 No No.
Who's to judge? It's all about love ain't it. And standing on the shoulders of giants. Rahsaan can cry all my cares away with an inflated tear...
while I'm waiting for the clampdown.
 But Tuesday nights I'm working.
I'm working with the session.
Did you ever dream Mary Lou ? and wake up callin' my name.
Tuesday at the Lizard... would you rather be a catfish, settin' on the steps?  Askin who's husband just now left? Or draggin' a line... Cindy Incidentally or was it Carrie get out your cane?  Who are all these folks? Minnie the Moocher and Dinah Moe Hum?
It is more than some arrangement. That woman from Fairfax played a dulcimer like Joni, but saw through my eyes like Stevie Wonder musta heard Bettie Wright. yes I gotta mess and your'e the clean up woman.
But who is 17 anymore? The wind hasn't cried Mary for a long time. And one more heartache's gonna break the camel's back...
Every Tuesday I can sing Won't You Ride In My Little Red Wagon to all those sweethearts to be. And all the kids will be jealous when they see my playmates so sweet.
I got five of 'em and it ain't even funny. It is a beautiful thing.
And as luck would have it, we have some friends, and some of those friends can sing.
Chis Pappas and Joe Sieder turn up at the microphone and there's Radiohead and Ryan Adams.  Last Tuesday we were rollin' and tumblin' with Avi and Celia.  We got the look. Wade's in the water with girls guns and glory.  A son of Sciutate kicking songs about dogs, jail and unrequited love. Talkin' about Dogs and Trains Music! And don't forget Ben E King. baby. Riding down that hillbilly highway since she gave me the green light...
Don't pay the ferryman. One night in Bancock. It ain't worth it.
So many songs to play. so many to forget.  Oh, Tuesday night.
