fanning the flames
Did you ever watch the Mclaughlin group? or want to play chess?
Did you ever wonder why Montpelier is like Moscow, and that we're more like Russia than you think?
Well I did.
But since I am no good at chess, when I heard Pat Bucchanan say that compared to China politically, Moscow is like Montpelier Vermont. (Put me Anais mitchell's VW bus I'm heading north!) I thought well maybe he's right.
...and then I read an interview with chess master Gary Kasparov where he talked about running against Vladimir Putin:
"I do not consume any food or liquids in places I am not fully aware of." I reallized that I am really glad there are still some differences...Like the Langdon St. Cafe.
That is definitely a place where I (or Gary Kasparov) can consume food or beverages without fear of being poisoned by Vladimir Putin. ( Do you think Mr. Putin would like Pop Life? I'm betting he's more of a Pete Labonne fan.."That's the sound of doom...") Anyways we did play a little Prince before the rain hit. The folks there cooked us up a pasta dinner and the way they pass the tip bucket around , who can say no?
I certainly don't need Pat Bucchanan to tell me that I love Montpelier...
Meanwhile there's fires and drought from San Diego to Atlanta. Still, is it so very far from Iraq; the burned out homes, the lives turned upside down. And still there are those would advocate a war with Iran, further fanning the flames of war with their hot air. Who are these fools...It's like standing on the roof of your house in La Jolla and yelling at the Santa Ana winds to bring it on...
