Rose Polenzani

Friday we had the pleasure of backing up singer extraordinaire Rose Polenzani for the second night of our "Session American celebrates the Ninja Babe" series...And As if that wasn't Ninja enough, we had Jordan Caress filling in on bass for the night. Talk about a one two punch. Now we did miss Kimone on bass a little bit, but he doesn't do a killer version of I'm on Fire (Bruce!) or
Love is a Battlefield (Pat Benatar!).( We have been doing some recording with Rose up at Hi'ndry studio so we were able to slip right into the pocket with her original tunes) She had us tied up in knots with Soft Parts, and down on the floor with Some Way Through This, Sasparilla and Queen Ann's Lace, as well as a cover of Cat Steven's Don't Be Shy and the ubiquitous Floppy Tulips. She was, to quote Jon from the web " a silent killing machine. except for the silent part..."
In the final set we had special guests galore: Jennifer Kimball, Jake Brennan and some guy named Paulette. His first song was called Liqour Store and the second was about Coca Cola, I think. Dinty sure has some interesting friends...
Kudos to Mark Chenevert for playing clarinet beautifully all night, and thanks to the staff at the Lizard Lounge for making our two night "run" a success. And of course all you folks who came down. Stoker! thanks to you too. And of course thanks to Miss Tess who put a great start to the evening with her wonderful band.
