Bill Janovitz

Bill Janovitz
Well, we continue to be unbelieveably fortunate with the series of guests who have blessed our little table. We were trying to think of people outside our little circle who would be good for this format and Bill's name came up right away, but we could never have known what a perfect fit he would be. After a few bottles of wine during rehearsal, we had him telling stories in an Italian accent and even introduced him to Asa Brebner's off-color humor. He didn't even flinch.
And when he walked up and sat down at our little table on Saturday night, we were all wondering why we hadn't played with him before. He picked a perfect batch of songs including: You're Still on My Mind (Byrds version), I Started Loving You Again (Merle Haggard), Shot of R B (Arthur Alexander), American Girl (Tom Petty), Too Much Monkey Business (Chuck Berry), Carickfergus (Van version), What would I Do Without You (Ray Charles).
He also spent most of the third set at the table with us, playing along and leading a few more tunes including a great version of Tom Waits' Heart of Saturday Night.
Thanks Bill. Come back anytime!
